About this experience

Celebrate the seasons with a wreath-making workshop using natural materials. Begin by crafting strong tī kōuka twine using a European string-making technique useful for forming the foundation of your wreath and many other things. Then, learn how to twist the twine into a wreath shape, finishing by creating a bow if you desire.

 

Please note:

  • Expect to get covered in tī kōuka.
  • Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring work gloves if you have some, and some scissors.
  • This workshop is for adults.

 

Cancellation

Bookings are non-refundable. If for any reason (this includes illness, COVID, travel delays and injuries) you need to cancel your workshop, you will receive a refund minus a $30 administration fee. This is provided you contact us at least 14 full days before your booking.

Gemma Stratton

Based in Mohua Golden Bay, Gemma is a brush maker. She studied sculpture at the University of Canterbury’s School of Fine Arts where her practice focused on making tools and devices to assist her colleagues with their work. Gemma weaves her long-held dedication to resourcefulness into everything she does. She’s teaching brush and wreath making this year.
