Thursday 9 June, 1-4pm, Craft Opportunities: Felt purse workshop

Come along and learn how to make a felted purse with Simone Bensdorp in a workshop held at our Matatiki Toi Ora Arts Centre workshop, which is located upstairs in the former Boys’ High building at 28 Worcester Boulevard.

This workshop is low-cost for Community Service Card holders, though donations are appreciated. The standard workshop price of $58 applies for those without cards. Please select the appropriate option at the bottom of the page.

In this workshop, Simone Bensdorp of Wild Felt teach you the basics of wet felting by making a useful felt purse/pouch. In this workshop there are two different sizes to choose from - a small purse/wallet, or a larger pouch suitable to use for a pencil case, sewing kit etc. You will learn how to wet felt the main fabric, then hand stitch a secondhand zip to close the pouch. This is a great beginner's project and you will learn techniques that can be applied to many other felting projects.

Masks are required for this workshop.
