Thursday 20 January, 6–8pm, Spoon Club at the Arts Centre (for those who've attended spoon-carving)

This session with Douglas Horrell is held at our Arts Centre workshop, which is located upstairs in the Boys’ High building at 28 Worcester Boulevard.

Vaccination requirement: Anyone 12 and over attending our workshops at any level of the traffic light system must be fully vaccinated. Please bring proof of vaccination (My Vaccine Pass), to show at the start of your workshop. More details about how we are creating a safe space for you in our workshops that are held within an open public setting can be found HERE.

For those of you who have attended one of our spoon-carving workshops - come back, practice and refresh your skills, and make more spoons!

This is an opportunity to enjoy spoon-carving practice with others, using the greenwood and tools supplied.

We supply a greenwood blank for both price brackets. When available, additional blanks cost $12. Please let us know if you would like more than one blank and we will do our best to accommodate.

We’ll provide you with greenwood, tools and some tuition time for $30. There will be a tutor present to help you plan your project, supervise and answer queries.

Our Regulars Rate of $17 is for those of you who come with your own tools and don’t need any tuition but do need a greenwood billet and a nice place to carve.

If you would to join us but this cost feels challenging at this time, please email us to book a place and pay what you can.

Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Minimum numbers are required for the class to run.

Bookings are essential, non-refundable and non-transferable.

If attending the workshop does not feel right for you at this time (this applies to level 2), we will refund you (minus 15% for booking/wesbite costs/refund processing) or defer your booking to a later date. Refunds will not be given if participants arrive to the workshop unwell on the day, and they will be asked to leave.

We do, however, understand that things come up and try and accommodate people to the best of our ability. This can include moving people to another class or a refund - but please be aware that this is reliant on us filling the original spot. This will incur a $5 admin fee.

This is because all of our pricing, and our efforts to keep costs as low as possible while still paying the tutors a fee commensurate with their experience and allowing them to cover the costs of living, is based on running these classes with a certain number of participants.

    Management of COVID-19 risk:

As we wish to operate as safely as possible, and protect the health of our communities, Rekindle will be running vaccinate mandated workshops from the implementation of the traffic light system, at all levels of the traffic light system.

This means that from Covid-19 traffic light system confirmation, anyone 12 and over attending a workshop at Rekindle must be fully vaccinated.

Mask-wearing is also a requirement at Orange & Red, and strongly encouraged at Green. Please visit our COVID policy page for more details.

Participants who are unwell, or who are required to self-isolate, must not attend the workshop. Refunds will be given if participants need to miss the workshop in order to manage the risk of COVID-19, however we need to be advised of this as soon as possible, so that we can fill the space.

Refunds will not be given if participants arrive to the workshop unwell on the day, and they will be asked to leave. Refunds will not be given to unvaccinated persons arriving at the workshop on the day, and they will be asked to leave

We are grateful to be able to offer this workshop in a partially subsidised manner because of support from Creative New Zealand.
