Thursday 11 July, 10am-3pm, Craft in the wild woods for youngsters (supervisor required)

Please note that one adult per child for supervision is required.

A special day learning & playing in nature. This workshop in the woods gives children a fun & satisfying experience of making what you need from simple natural materials around you.

This is held in the Brandenburg Coppice, a wild woodland at Lincoln University where we have our outdoor craft workshop.

In the morning, children will experience the magic of building a woodland shelter from woven branches. This will show them basic techniques in bending & weaving willow to make a strong shelter. When the shelter is ready, we will light the storm kettle & share a hot drink with lunch in the beautiful space we’ve just created. Then in the afternoon we will spend time carving a greenwood spoon from freshly felled timber.

Please bring a packed lunch, and dress warmly for all wild weather including sturdy closed-in shoes or gumboots.

There are 10 places available on this course, which requires minimum numbers to run. Bookings are essential and non-refundable.

We are grateful for the support of CNZ, which allows us to offer this class at a subsidised rate.
