Sunday June 23, 2-4pm, Foraging in Lyttelton Harbour Basin with Peter Langlands

This is a two hour walk along the waterfront. We will meet at the Allandale Reserve Car Park at 2pm.

 

Enjoy a two-hour walk along the waterfront during which the group will encounter around 50-75 forageable species.Peter will also point out those best to avoid! Collect a selection for sharing during the group discussion back at the Allandale Picnic Area. A species list of what we find will be made available to all the participants.

 

This will give you the tools to make the most of existing food resources, learn how to identify safe zones to gather wild foods, and to identify and make practical use of wild foods.

 

Children under 16 to attend with an adult please.

 

Participants please wear sturdy footwear suitable for walking.

 

Please bring: Water bottle, small bag or container for collecting samples, a camera and or a notepad, a light rain jacket and sunblock.
