Saturday 29 June, 10–11.30am, Free doll-making with ti kōuka leaves for youngsters for Matariki

Rekindle is grateful for the support of CCC's Enliven Places Fund, which has allowed us to offer this class free of charge to the public. We also wish to thank the Arts Centre for their support of the Matariki programme.

This workshop is held in The Arts Centre’s Maker Workshop, which is located downstairs in the School of Art Building at 1 Hereford Street (corner of Hereford Street and Rolleston Avenue).

This workshop is perfect for older kids, 8 years and up - those comfortable working with scissors. Each child/young person must be accompanied by an adult.

Tī kōuka cabbage tree leaves are such an abundant and multi-purpose material that we can find all around us. This fun hour and a half-long workshop will teach you how to make a simple doll with cabbage tree leaves, similar to a corn dolly.
