Saturday 20 August, 10am-2.30pm, Eucalyptus printed hottie covers

Come along and learn how to make a hot water bottle cover with Simone Bensdorp in a class held at our Matatiki Toi Ora Arts Centre workshop, located upstairs in the former Boys’ High building at 28 Worcester Boulevard.

In this workshop you will learn to make a cosy felt cover for your hot water bottle, then dye it with eucalyptus leaves to create a colourful design. This workshop is suitable for beginners and two different skills will be taught: wet felting and eco-printing.

First we will create the hot water bottle covers, using traditional wet felting techniques and natural New Zealand merino wool. Once the felting is complete, we will use eucalyptus leaves to eco-print vibrant colours onto the felt. Expect to create shades of orange and brown with the Eucalyptus leaves.

Please note: This workshop is for adults only please, as it is not suitable for children.

Masks are required for this workshop.
