Saturday 24 February 2018, 10am to 5pm - Foundation 2 GWW: Learn to carve greenwood spoons**

Saturday 24 February 2018, 10am to 5pm - Foundation 2 GreenWood-Working (GWW): Learn to carve greenwood spoons at Rekindle's Resourceful Ōtautahi workshop at the Albert Hall, Ferrymead Heritage Park, Ferrymead, Ōtautahi Christchurch.

This workshop is not just about a spoon, it is the second stage of you becoming a skilled Greenwood-worker. This workshop is an investment in skills that give you a wonderful point from which to turn your hand to many different future greenwood-working projects.

This workshop gives you the second instalment of greenwood-working skills following on from the Foundation 1 GWW: Peg-Making workshop, i.e. the Peg-Making workshop is a pre-requisite for this Spoon-Carving workshop. This workshop introduces you to the ancient traditional tools & techniques including a draw-knife, shaving horse, spoon knives etc. You'll make your own wooden spoon from locally harvested timber, so you will go home with new skills and a spoon to cherish and use.

This course will be a pre-requisite to other future greenwood-working workshops e.g. Stool-Making, Chair-Making etc.

Once you have done this course you will be able to join the 'Spoon-Carvers Guild' so that you can keep coming to sessions to keep practicing your skills and carry on with some more spoon-carving projects.

There are 6 places available in this workshop and booking is essential, and non-refundable.

The price covers a portion of the: tutor's wage, workshop rent, materials & the labour to collect them, tools & their maintenance, electricity, insurance & other overheads. We are working to keep workshop prices as low as we possibly can.
