Wednesday 22 September, 5.30-8pm, Seasonal wreath making: Spring Equinox

This workshop takes place at Rekindle at the Arts Centre, upstairs in the Boys' High Building at 28 Worcester Boulevard.

Join Lily Duval for this seasonal wreath-making workshop and learn how to use tī kōuka / cabbage tree leaves to make a strong and beautiful twine, which we will then transform into a wreath.

This will then be decorated with different leaves and flowers that are particular to this time of year.

During this workshop we will also talk about the practices and ways to celebrate this time of year.

Lily will bring some seasonal finds to decorate your wreath with, but feel free to bring your own!

This class is suited to adults. One booking per person attending please.

If you have access to fallen/brown tī kōuka / cabbage tree leaves, please bring in as big a bundle as you can! Please soak them first in water overnight if possible, if not longer.

Bookings are essential, non-refundable and non-transferable.

If attending the workshop does not feel right for you at this time (level 2), we will refund you (minus 15% for booking/website costs/refund processing) or defer your booking to a later date. Refunds will not be given if participants arrive to the workshop unwell on the day, and they will be asked to leave.

We do, however, understand that things come up and try and accommodate people to the best of our ability. This can include moving people to another class or a refund - but please be aware that this is reliant on us filling the original spot. This will incur a $5 admin fee.

This is because all of our pricing, and our efforts to keep costs as low as possible while still paying the tutors a fee commensurate with their experience and allowing them to cover the costs of living, is based on running these classes with a certain number of participants.

We are grateful to be able to offer this workshop in a partially subsidised manner because of support from Creative New Zealand, and from Te Matatiki Toi Ora the Arts Centre.

Management of COVID-19 risk:

Please be assured this workshop will be managed with the utmost care in terms of risk management in relation to COVID-19. This will include: at least 1m distancing between people; hand sanitiser being provided and its regular use required (please bring your own if you have an allergy); hand washing facilities nearby; regular disinfection of shared surfaces and tools.

All participants are required to wear a face mask, unless they have medical exemption.

Participants who are unwell, or who are required to self-isolate, must not attend the workshop. Refunds will be given if participants need to miss the workshop in order to manage the risk of COVID-19, however we need to be advised of this as soon as possible, so that we can fill the space. Refunds will not be given if participants arrive to the workshop unwell on the day, and they will be asked to leave.
