Deb will introduce a selection of traditional shibori techniques before participants prepare their own textiles and immerse them in indigo vats, building colour and revealing the patterns created through the resist process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou’ll leave with your own indigo-dyed textiles, transformed with the shibori patterns you’ve explored, along with the skills and inspiration to continue experimenting with shibori and giving textiles new life at home.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003ePlease note\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAll materials and tools will be provided - All tools and materials needed to participate will be provided, including a 50cm square of natural textile for you to dye, which can be used as a scarf, bandana, furoshiki or similar.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhat to wear – Indigo dye can stain clothing and footwear. Please wear an apron or old clothes and comfortable old shoes that you don’t mind getting dye on.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eGloves – Please bring rubber gloves if you have them.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTaking your work home – Please bring a suitable bag to take home wet shibori and indigo-dyed textiles at the end of the workshop.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFood \u0026amp; Drink – Bring a water bottle to keep hydrated, and any food or snacks you may need over the course of the workshop. To observe tikanga, we ask that no food or hot drinks are consumed in the work space, a separate area will be available for breaks.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThis workshop is for adults aged 18 and older, or for young people aged 16–17 who attend with a supervising adult. Please wash any personal fabric first in a mild detergent and allow it to dry. Each participant can dye up to approximately 300g of dry-weight fabric in total during the workshop.
