Thursday 7 July, 2-4pm, Craft Opportunities: Felt-bowl making

Come along and learn how to make a felt bowl with Simone Bensdorp in a workshop held at our Matatiki Toi Ora Arts Centre workshop, which is located upstairs in the former Boys’ High building at 28 Worcester Boulevard.

This workshop is free/low-cost for Community Service Card holders, though donations are appreciated. The standard workshop price of $46 applies for those without cards. Please select the appropriate option at the bottom of the page.

In this workshop Simone Bensdorp of Wild Felt will teach you how to make a felt bowl using natural, undyed, New Zealand wool and traditional felting techniques. Wool felt-making is the oldest known way to make fabric, simply by combining wool, soap and water. This handmade product requires no fancy machines or chemicals, it is a simple practice that anyone can learn and use.

Please bring one towel, all other materials will be provided. It is also a good idea to bring a spare bag for your towel and bowl as they may still be wet after the class.

This workshop is for adults only please, as it is not suitable for children.

Masks are required for this workshop.

Bookings are non-refundable

A credit may be issued if you are unable to attend due to illness or COVID isolation and advise Rekindle as soon as possible, prior to your workshop. A transfer fee may apply.

Credits will not be issued with less than 24 hours notice given.
