Wednesday 22 April, 6-8pm, Landscape cups from local clay - a workshop with Tatyanna Meharry

This workshop is held in the Rekindle workshop, which is located upstairs in the Boys’ High building at 28 Worcester Boulevard.

In this workshop, using materials found in and around Banks Peninsula, you will put together layers of clay to produce a pair of tumblers that will create landscapes when fired. Through this process Tatyanna will share her knowledge of local clay, its origin and its qualities; this is something she has an extraordinarily beautiful & resourceful approach to.

No experience is required. Please bring an apron. The cost of materials and firing is included in the price.

The materials that are used in these workshops are sourced locally and are made into refined ceramic materials suitable for making. This practice means that there is an integral connection between the land and how the resources are used responsibly and with understanding.

This class is suited to adults. Bookings are essential and non refundable. Minimum numbers are required for the class to run.

Bookings are essential, non-refundable and non-transferable. We do, however, understand that things come up and try and accommodate people to the best of our ability. This can include moving people to another class or a refund - but please be aware that this is reliant on us filling the original spot.

This is because all of our pricing, and our efforts to keep costs as low as possible while still paying the tutors a fee commensurate with their experience and allowing them to cover the costs of living, is based on running these classes with a certain number of participants
