Sunday 15 March, 10am-2.30pm, Tī kōuka placemat workshop at the Arts Centre

(Rekindle Workshop, upstairs in the Boys’ High building at The Arts Centre, 28 Worcester Boulevard)

This class is suitable for adults and runs for four hours with a half hour lunch break.

This workshop teaches you to use tī kōuka or cabbage tree leaves to weave a table mat, which involves a round weave. This technique can be used with many different plant fibres & other materials.

If you have access to tī kōuka / cabbage tree leaves, do bring in as big a bundle as you can! We would be most appreciative as we always need more of this valuable resource.

There are 8 places available in this workshop.

Bookings are essential, non-refundable and non-transferable. We do, however, understand that things come up and try and accommodate people to the best of our ability. This can include moving people to another class or a refund - but please be aware that this is reliant on us filling the original spot.

This is because all of our pricing, and our efforts to keep costs as low as possible while still paying the tutors a fee commensurate with their experience and allowing them to cover the costs of living, is based on running these classes with a certain number of participants.

We are grateful to the support of CNZ, which has allowed us to offer this workshop at a subsidised rate.
