Landscape bowls from local clay with Tatyanna Meharry - a workshop in two parts: 10am-12pm Monday 12th & 10am-12pm Wednesday 14th November 2018

Local Materials: Landscape bowls - a workshop with Tatyanna Meharry.

In this workshop, using materials found in and around Banks Peninsula, you will put together layers of clay and inclusions to produce a pair of stratified ceramic bowls that will create landscapes when fired. Through this process Tatyanna will share her knowledge of local clay, it's origin and it's qualities; this is something she has an extraordinarily beautiful & resourceful approach to.

The materials that are used in these workshops are sourced locally and are made into refined ceramic materials suitable for making. This practice means that there is an integral connection between the land and how the resources are used responsibly and with understanding.

This workshop includes 2 sessions: 10am-12pm Monday 12th and 10am-12pm Wednesday 14th November 2018 (i.e. 4hrs total). The cost of the workshop includes firing and materials.

These workshops will run at Tatyanna's studio at 380 St Asaph Street, Ōtautahi Christchurch.

This is a workshop suited for adults only, no children please. Bookings are essential and non-refundable.

Huge thanks to the Arts Centre for supporting the festival and this workshop.
