Learn the basics of sharpening - how to get a great edge on everything from kitchen knives to woodworking tools to garden implements. Make friends with your tools and make them last a lifetime with this essential resourceful skill. This workshop focuses on learning to sharpen with cheap and readily available equipment. Bringing your own knives or tools is encouraged. Not all of them will be able to be sharpened in this workshop, but you'll leave with an understanding of how to do it.

Why?
Douglas Horrell has been teaching with Rekindle since 2017 and specialises in hand-carved, functional items such as spoons and bowls, as well as having an interest in chair-making and other greenwood traditions. He also has a growing interest in toolmaking - forging his own tools from high carbon steel. He hopes to offer locally-made carving tools to Rekindle students in the future.
