In this youngsters workshop, Simone Bensdorp will teach you how to make felt using a traditional wet felting technique. We will use natural merino wool to create a flat piece of felt, which can be embellished with your own designs. Wool felt-making is the oldest known way to make fabric, simply by combining wool, soap and water. This handmade product requires no fancy machines or chemicals, it is a simple practice that anyone can learn and use.
Please note: Children aged 6-8 years may attend with an adult to support them. Children aged 9 years and over can attend on their own. Please bring one towel, all other materials will be provided. It is also a good idea to bring a spare bag for your towel and felt, as they may still be wet after the class.
